Mr. Manish Saraf

Manish Saraf looks forward to each day at his job with terrific enthusiasm to overcome challenges

“From our principal business in housing, we are fast expanding into hospitality. We also have an increasing interest in retail, healthcare and education. It is all about looking at opportunities in projects that are beneficial to the health of the Group and that synergises with out core strengths and activities.”

Little had Manish Saraf reckoned, when he joined the Company way back in 2000, that the Group would proliferate and spread at such a rapid speed. The original operations were conducted out of Queen’s Park with, perhaps, 20 or 30 staff on the payroll. Today, Manish Saraf spearheads the finances of Mani Group that has spread its operations by leaps and bounds as a key player in the real estate business with many add-ons.

By qualification an expert Chartered Accountant who looks after Mani Group’s financial health, he is also a qualified Associate Company Secretary who has the intricacies of corporate rules and regulations on his fingertips. Commenting on the growth of the organisation, he smiles and says, “When I first joined the Company we were handling 3 or 4 projects of 40 to 50 thousand sq ft. Currently, spread across West Bengal, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Odisha, we have 10 to 15 million sq ft under our belt! From our principal business in housing, we are fast expanding into hospitality, with a shared interest in the up and coming J W Mariott hotel in Kolkata and our individual investment in The Courtyard in Siliguri. We also have an increasing interest in retail, healthcare and education. It is all about looking at opportunities in projects that are beneficial to the health of the Group and that synergises with out core strengths and activities.” Manish Saraf finds working under Sanjay Jhunjhunwalla stimulating because he sees in the leader “a drive that drives everyone else in the team. What helps is his indepth knowledge of the various aspects of our businesses and he looks at every problem as a challenge that has a solution. ‘Raasta nikaalengey’ is a hugely inspiring motto!”
