– Inaugurates 60 – Bed Community Hall For Overnight Stay Of Patients’ Family Members –
Durgapur, 30th May, 2019:IQ City Medical College Hospital today announced the launch of JanakalyanPrakalpa, an initiative of Mani Devi JhunjhunwalaJanakalyan Trust, under which various operations will be undertaken at an unbelievably lower cost using world class infrastructural and medical facilities which are on a par with any hospital in and around the region.
The JanakalyanPrakalpa was launched today by Mr Dilip Kumar Agasty, Hon’ble Mayor, Durgapur Municipal Corporation in the gracious presence of Mr Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, President, IQ City Foundation, Mr Francis Antony, Trustee, IQ City Foundation, DrNandKishorLakhoti, Principal, IQ City Medical College Hospital, MsSuparnaSengupta COO, IQ City Medical College Hospital &MsSudarshanaGangulee, Director, Mani Group. This initiative will commence from 1st June, 2019, and continue till 26th September, 2019.
MrDilip Kumar Agasty, Hon’ble Mayor, Durgapur Municipal Corporation also inaugurated a 60-bed Community Hall which can be availed of by the patient’s family members. A 24×7 canteen is operational to take care of food requirements.

The first batch of IQ City Medical College which commenced in August 2013, has passed the Final MBBS examination and is undergoing internship training from March, 2018. The Medical College from 2018 is recognized / approved for the MBBS degree. Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses have also begun in six subjects and the first batch started from the first quarter of 2018. The college has also been recognized as a regional training centre for medical teaching technology by the Medical Council of India. The college is getting its subsequent batches for MBBS, along with MD / MS courses in various clinical specialities. The teaching hospital is managed by the Dr Devi Shetty run Narayana Hrudayalaya. With an overall capacity of 798 beds, its operational super-speciality departments include Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic surgery, Neurology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, along with a dialysis unit, Paediatric Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
The IQ City Nursing College’s first batch of nursing students has already passed out. The existing 200-strong faculty team of the two colleges comprises carefully chosen and highly qualified professionals with the experience of imparting the best of knowledge, skills and ethical values.
