Saroj Kumar Roy Chowdhury

Chief Security Officer of Mani Group, is an ex-police personnel who finds his new assignment exciting and challenging

As Chief Security Officer of Mani Group, Saroj Kumar Roy Chowdhury has a lot at stake, looking after the safety and well-being of various locations where work is on in full swing. Corporate security identifies and effectively mitigates at every stage any developments that may threaten the resilience and continued survival of a corporation. It is a corporate function. As he points out, “There’s a tremendous amount of movement in my job as I am in-charge of all the sites and have to ensure strict security and vigilance. I also lend a helping hand to the Administration Department so my hands are quite full!”

Talking about his past, Saroj Kumar Roy Chowdhury says, “I was with the Calcutta Police and retired as Deputy Commissioner – Police Traffic in 2015. I had known Sanjay-ji since 1989 and seen how fast the Mani Group had grown under his able leadership. He is a dynamic man and is very sure of what he wants to do. His vision for the Group is clear and all employees are completely loyal to him. After I retired, he requested me to look after the Security of Mani Group not only in Kolkata but also the IQ City project in Durgapur. So my visits to Durgapur are also frequent and though I sit at Head Office, I have to keep moving to all our sites. These last few months, before the opening of JW Marriott, I was spending a lot of time there to set up security systems. But now the project is ready and so my team and I are concentrating on other locations.”

“I report to Sanjay-ji and I am amazed by his capacity to work hard and lead his team with such enthusiasm. His reputation is impeccable and there is so much that we all have to learn from him. The way he has built up the Mani empire in such a short span of time has to be marveled and applauded. He knows how to support his team and that is what attracted me to him. He is like our guardian and I hope that I have been able  to fulfill the responsibilities that he has given me.”
