Shatrujit Dasgupta
Asst General Manager, Projects
Shatrujit Dasgupta, remains unruffled at work under any situation. As he puts it with a smile, “I love to work under pressure; in fact, pressure drives me into giving my best and for us The 42 and all other projects are big. I love my job and on days when work is light, I stay back after office hours to plan what needs to be done ahead of time. This gives my schedule a clear focus and I enjoy being ateam player who knows the tasks he has to perform.”
Joining Mani Group in 2003, Shatrujit Dasgupta began his career in the Company as a site engineer. “I think it was my dedication that helped me rise to my current position,” he confides with a suppressed sense of pride. “At the moment, work is ongoing at The 42 and it is exciting as it is a very prestigious project. In the job that I do, the main challenge is to handle labour and maximise their input. Most of our projects are centred around high-rises and the logistics of building at heights is certainly a challenge. At The 42, we have covered the entire periphery of the working area with imported machinery and material from Germany for safety and better output. If I am not mistaken, the systems and equipment we use at our site are really advanced and no other builder is using them.”
Questioned about his impression of Mani Group’s team leader, he says grinning, “When I joined in 2003, I had a huge fear mingled with respect for Sanjay-ji. I know that he likes people who can solve problems and deliver. And he supports those who can face up to challenges and overcome them. I like the principles he lives by and he is extremely dedicated and thorough in every aspect of the job in hand, be it design or engineering or accounts or legal matters. Sanjay-ji instills in all of us a sense of perfection and that is why we try to be the best team possible!”
