Project administration is a tricky job as it needs a keen eye for detail and getting day to day tasks fixed and out of the way. Prolay Mondal, Senior Manager, Support Services, Mani Group finds his job challenging and reveals, “I look after some key areas of project administration with my team. Though my work is mainly in Kolkata, I do have to also go to Siliguri, Bhubaneswar and Durgapur for special assignments. Our projects that are running in Kolkata right now are the JW Marriott Hotel, Swarnamani, Mani Casadona and Mani Imperial. I am also currently looking after our major project, The 42, on Chowringhee and the enormous scale of work that it entails is both demanding and exciting. I look after all local liaison and that keeps me on my toes. It is one of our Group’s most prestigious projects and once it is ready, it will be the talk of the town. Nothing so mammoth has been attempted before.”

Prolay Mondal joined Mani Group in 1995. As he puts it, “This is my first job. I passed my BCom exams in 1993 and joined the Group when our office was still in Queen’s Park and we were a small team of employees working for our leader, Mr Sanjay Jhunjhunwala. I have been with Mani Group for twenty-one years now and we have gone through several changes for the better. The organisation is now completely professionalised and we have some of the best employees working here. Our reputation in the market is impeccable and this makes me very proud.” About his boss, Prolay Mondal says with a smile, “Sanjay-ji is like a guardian to all of us and I look upon him as a second father. His sense of perfection is flawless and this has helped me in several ways. I am a non-technical person but over time I have learnt a lot about the technical aspects of my job. This has helped me immensely in the projects I am involved with. Sanjay-ji is open to suggestions and encourages us to take independent decisions and execute our work. It is a pleasure to work with him.”
