There is a terrific sense of equanimity that surrounds Mr P M Rakhecha as he says with a smile, “This is my ninth year with Mani Group though I have known Sanjay-babu since 1985.”

The association, thus, goes well beyond his professional assignment that ranges from corporate co-ordination to purchase and acquisition of properties. Mr P M Rakhecha is an LLB by qualification though he has never practiced law.

His assignment is extremely challenging. Many a legal aspect is scrutinized by him, be it in the area of buying land or getting approvals from municipal corporations and other authorities that entails quite a lot of travel to places where the Group has a presence. He has been involved with both Mani Square in Kolkata and Pink Square in Jaipur since the inception of the malls, along with some of the most prestigious realty projects, including Durgapur and Bhubaneswar.  Also, with expansion plans that include an educational institution in Nagpur and hospitality projects in Siliguri and Gangtok, Rakhecha-ji is, indeed, a busy man!

As he points out, “Mani Group is being rapidly looked upon more and more as an expanding and responsible corporate. The governments of various states where we work are impressed with our planning and execution of tasks and I certainly enjoy what I do. Every assignment is a personal challenge. But I am never stressed out. I work in a relaxed manner and take decisions without being under pressure. Because working with Sanjay-ji is very fulfilling. He has an open heart and welcomes brain-storming sessions. I only wish that I could interact with him more frequently, though I know that his work schedule is very busy. We are all starving to get some time from him! His advice always boosts our confidence.”
