Mr Ravinder Kalu
General Manager – Projects
Ravindra Kalu has an affable smile when he reveals that he has been part of the Mani Group for a long time and loves his outstation posting.
“It is a challenge to meet the deadlines. But I love motivating my team,” he says. “Real estate has a lot of opportunity and Mani Tirumala in Bhubaneswar is a very prestigious project. All the allied systems that come into providing the basic infrastructure support to this project is backed by the impeccable reputation of the Mani Group. I hope that my experience in this industry in the areas of manpower management, finance and other areas have helped to build and motivate my team.”
Mani Tirumala is, indeed, one of Bhubaneswar’s most high-end addresses and will add to the city’s prestige. Before taking up his assignment in Odisha, Ravindra Kalu was stationed in Jaipur to look after the installation of air-conditioning, electrical and fire-fighting systems at Pink Square when the Mall was coming up. Soon he was asked to move to Bhubaneswar. As he reveals, “I have been associated with Sanjay-ji since 1998 and there is so much to learn from him. His vision is as clear as crystal and he has a deep knowledge of every aspect of his business, be it architecture, design, legal or construction. Sanjay-ji grasps new concepts very easily and has a fascination for the latest technology. He is generous but strict and a very able leader. He will try and bring the best that is available in our businesses.”
“He showed great trust in me when he asked me to be part of this project. Can you imagine, this entire area was barren as it is not in the heart of town. There were no lights after 6 pm. So we had to immediately install lighting systems everywhere and once construction began, it encouraged other builders to start their projects in this area as well. So you can say that in our humble way we have been pioneers. In just four years there has been a vast difference though the concept of high-rise buildings is new to Bhubaneswar. However, the younger generation is getting adjusted to the idea.”
