Shouvik Mandal has an important role to play in the Mani Group. But he finds his assignment not only challenging but also creative and exciting. Joining the Group in 2014, he says that all through his life he has worked with private organisations. As he points out, “Mani as a Group has several companies under its wing and thus the scope of work is immense. I had not anticipated working in such an immense scale when I joined the concern. Mani has grown rapidly over the last 30 years and completed constructing round 5 million sq ft spaces. It is a phenomenal growth and certainly a big feather in our cap! We hope to be the largest real estate company in eastern India in the next couple of years.” 

Shouvik Mandal points out that the situation is, indeed, challenging and how this challenge is overcome will be Mani’s success story. The Group has already transformed itself from a family driven business to corporatizing its operations. “Though such transformation took time,” says Mr Mandal, “it is the best thing that could have happened to the Group. Now, with wings spreading, there will be new horizons to conquer. Already several expansion projects are underway and there are several fresh avenues that are being explored to bring in business.”

Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, helming the Group is, according to Shouvik Mandal “a bundle of energy and experience! The most wonderful quality about Sanjay-ji is his curiosity and capacity to learn. We meet to streamline management reporting systems. We are still working on this and the challenges he offers me keeps me excited and on my toes. He is very thorough about all jobs that are undertaken and before taking any decision he needs to understand the situation in great detail and with all its varied ramifications. The growth of the organisation is vital and what had happened over 30 years will now happen in the next 3 or 4 years. Can you imagine the challenge and the immense volume of transactions? I’m so looking forward to the future!”
