Mr Binod Khandelwal is excited about the expansion of the Group’s hospitality projects
“Sanjay-ji is a stickler for perfection and he expects you to come up with a solution rather than place a problem at his door. He insists that all of us think out of the box for the betterment of our individual and corporate goals.”
Binod Khandelwal, Assistant General Manager – Accounts, is affable by nature and extremely meticulous about his work. He has been with the Mani Group since 2008 and has always put his best foot forward in these last eight years with the Company. As he points out, “I am a Chartered Accountant by profession and have a lot of responsibility to ensure meticulous handling of finance. I am now looking after finance and accounts for our hospitality division that is growing by leaps and bounds. We have hotels coming up in Kolkata and Siliguri and there are massive plans for expansion in the future. Mani Square also comes directly under my responsibility. Thus, my task currently is not only of great challenge but also of great opportunity.”
Reporting directly to Mr Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, Binod Khandelwal says, “Sanjay-ji has very many special qualities and I have learnt a lot from him, especially in the area of stress management. He is a thorough professional and expects you to be ready and up-to-date with all information all the time. He has taught me new and innovative ways to work. Sanjay-ji is a stickler for perfection and he expects you to come up with a solution rather than place a problem at his door. He insists that all of us think out of the box for the betterment of our individual and corporate goals. He is thinking all the time on how to improve quality and cut costs without cutting corners. His vast knowledge and his legal expertise is something that I have always admired. He always tells us that you will be a Man if you know how to tackle difficulties and not succumb to pressure.” According to Binod Khandelwal, an atmosphere of pressure is good if it is also healthy and keeps you on your toes to do better. “I enjoy it,” he smiles. “I don’t like to sit idle as an idle mind is a devil’s workshop. It is best to think positive thoughts even when the going gets tough. Tough times don’t last but tough people do! Sanjay-ji has proved this adage to us amply.”
